My weekend of solo-dad with kid (i.e. no babysitter = no running) culminated with a birthday party attendance for said kid at a bowling alley in Midtown. The back side of Midtown. You have to be careful which direction you drive in to that area or eyes-that-see-everything will start asking awkward questions. Anyway, it left me a 2-hour window to have a run. It was a scenic trek through some of the nicer old yuppie neighborhoods, all the way to where I run my lunchtime runs, on the outskirts of downtown, and back. Mile 7 on hurt a little, and the last mile I was feeling ITB band twinges on top of the runner’s knee symptoms. But I made it the full 10, and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Will probably walk funny in the morning.
PS: Started with ITB exercises this morning.
